Mother and the Devil 2

— Mr. Khachatryan, today we see humanity on the brink of destruction. As you warned, if Israel attacks Iran, it will begin not a “third world war” but the “last” one… Earth is burning… Everyone is discussing the “Epstein files”: his “friends”—members of royal families, leaders of states, financiers and the political elite, including perverts and pedophiles—ruled the world… Civilization is deteriorating… Is this really the end?! Is there hope of salvation? We have heard you set out your thoughts in The New Faust; we heard the screenplay is being written either in Hollywood, Moscow or Georgia.

Please tell us about this work and what stage it has reached. — In my articles and interviews, I have repeatedly warned that humanity is on the threshold of self-destruction. To visualize my vision, I used the characters of Goethe’s tragedy Faust. That is how the idea of Mother and the Devil arose—The New Faust was the working title. Goethe’s plot centers on God and Mephistopheles’ philosophical dispute about human nature; the chief villain is the cynical Mephistopheles, who tempts Doctor Faust with earthly benefits to obtain his soul.

In Mother and the Devil, the spiritual collides with our present reality; the chief evil is the “soul” of the modern “human being,” whose highest priorities are money and power, and one “more successful biomaterial” destroys another. It is a reflection on values, humanity and the Mother as the foundation of life. I am speaking now of the mother’s divine purpose: giving life and providing children with spiritual and moral upbringing. Do not confuse spiritual upbringing with instilling the idea that power permits anything and that enrichment must be pursued by any means.

Sadly, such mothers are rare today: society’s spiritual degradation, the modern pace of life, lack of time—people work a great deal, some to survive, others to “build” careers—changing authorities such as social networks and bloggers, and so on. It is precisely the mother who can teach a child love, mercy and responsibility for their actions through her own example. Only this foundation, combined with culture, faith and national values—each state has its own—can change the situation. Today this is the only path… How can it be conveyed to people so they hear?!

Values throughout the world are different: wars, survival, weapons, destruction, from family to state level.

— Arbak Shaumyanovich, why is the work called Mother and the Devil? In our familiar understanding, the Mother is love and the Devil evil. What is the plot, if it is no secret? — The work—I somehow cannot call it that; rather, an idea, a phenomenon—consists of several short stories.

First: how artificial intelligence could become humanity’s new “prophet.” Second: God is invited to an Intergalactic Court to be asked: What caused humanity’s loss of faith and spirituality? Why, despite people praying faithfully, are there misfortunes, wars, diseases and catastrophes on Earth? Perhaps most of the prophets who represented Him on Earth were false? Third: hell has problems. Merchants plan to “sell off the territory by the square meter,” there is no gas for the boiler—a global tender has been announced, but who will pay?—and, most importantly, there are no souls.

The Devil closes the underworld, swallows the gate key and tries to flee. He is frightened, asks the Creator for forgiveness and begs Him to save him. Fourth: on the once-flourishing Earth, all living and spiritual things have been destroyed, but a ray of light breaks through the emptiness and darkness… It is the soul of that Mother—a collective image, a symbol—whom God created in the distant past; the human race on Earth began with her. Seeing humanity’s destruction, she realizes her mortal sin: she did not fulfill the mission the Creator entrusted to her—she did not protect Life.

Her children grew up soulless “biomaterial,” without a full spiritual upbringing or the “living” experience of love and mercy… It is they who brought the planet to the apocalypse… Suddenly, the Mother sees the Devil emerge from the ruins—trying to escape and save himself from destruction—and speaks to him. She wants to know why the Devil fought maternal values throughout his history and tempted people with earthly benefits to obtain their souls. He should have understood that if people have no soul, they cannot distinguish “good” and “evil,” and the Devil himself will no longer be needed; they will destroy him.

This is the climactic moment: the Devil is silent, but the Mother sees in his eyes a guilty child begging to be saved. Her maternal instinct urges her to help God’s last spiritual creation remaining on Earth—the Devil; although evil, he is God’s son or God’s spiritual creation, whichever you prefer. Seeing the Mother’s sincere repentance and the strength of her maternal instinct to save a child—any child; boundaries, nationality, faith and so on do not matter—the Creator gives her soul a new bodily form, perhaps a different one, and a second chance to give birth and BRING UP a child… A second chance for humanity…
