Arbak Khachatryan’s open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, 2020

Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich,

The reason for my appeal to you is the pervasive uncertainty, growing with each new day, brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. We all expect you, and Russia as represented by you, to demonstrate Solomonic wisdom in resolving the gravest problems facing a fundamentally changing world today, and to draw conclusions consistent with the logic of a new world order centered on the Human Being and Mother Nature. There is no doubt that the world will no longer be the same. Our planet faces a fateful choice.

Earth’s population has two paths: either it becomes the gravedigger of its own future, or it thoroughly reconsiders the entirely irresponsible attitude toward Mother Nature and ordinary people that has developed over many centuries. Those responsible for the situation are, first, the all-powerful financial and banking system, now in its death throes but nevertheless having entangled all humanity in its web, and second, the military-industrial complex, which has laid humanity in “nuclear cradles.”

This cannot go on; everyone realizes it. Nor is it a coincidence that restoring harmony in the cosmos is directly connected with saving our planet. In the present circumstances, even the fruitless debates over whether Covid-19 has a natural or human-made origin are not that important. What matters most to us now is stopping the further tearing apart of our planet and restoring its tormented body as soon as possible. That will be the most universal and effective vaccine, the most resilient in confronting today’s gravest trials.

Humanity faces the need to rethink its former values and renew the paths of its further development.

Vladimir Vladimirovich, you are being addressed by a man who, many years ago, foresaw the collapse of the existing financial and usurious system with its stock exchanges, predicted the logical conclusion of the processes in Syria and Ukraine, and pointed out the inexpediency and even the danger of building the TurkStream gas pipeline. Today, the well-known events in New York make us witnesses to the collapse of a new “financial Babylon.” Living in Armenia for the last five years, I see more clearly than ever the destructive influence of this imposed system on every sphere of human activity.

Everything, from heads of state to natural resources, has fallen under the power of the tentacles of the global “octopus.” Like metastases, the closed financial and banking system has entangled and is choking everyone and everything, thereby obstructing the natural development of states. In my publications, I even proposed returning enterprises of strategic importance to the former Soviet republics. For example, I repeatedly demanded the return to state control of a number of important strategic assets, such as Gazprom, Armenian Railway, and so on (including enterprises transferred to Russia under the intergovernmental “Property for Debt” agreement), thereby ending the plunder that has become a norm of life over the past 30 years.

Most respected Vladimir Vladimirovich, you have a unique opportunity to nullify the many years of efforts by Western image-makers to portray Russia as a backward and misanthropic country, and to become the new Danko so greatly needed in today’s changing world. Russia can genuinely restore friendly relations with the former union republics, including Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and Georgia. Relations based on the logic of complementarity, rather than the insatiable appetites of the “elder brother” and complete disregard for the interests of the “younger ones.”

Relations that will once again bring together the brotherly countries that have gradually drifted apart; equal relations based on free and unhindered partnership. I am certain that then the “younger brothers” will stop rushing about in desperation in the hope of salvation, the sun will shine equally for everyone, and only then will each “string of an imaginary harp” blend into an enchanting, harmonious melody…
